Google’s Advertising Program:AdSense | Advantages & Disadvantages

AdSense has been recognized as one of the most performance and revenue oriented advertising program. It’s counted as one the best ways to earn money on the digital platform. You can understand AdSense as a system which helps you putting contextual ads on your blogs or websites. When these ads are clicked by the users on your website, Google makes sure you are provided with a percentage of the revenue earned.

Note: Depending upon the keywords used within the content, the rate paid to the publishers varies accordingly.

Google Adwords is responsible for the text ads which are used under Google’s advertising program. A silent auction is held by AdSense in which the advertisers bid for putting their advertisement against each keyword. Consequently the content providers are paid accordingly. Full anonymity is maintained as neither the publisher nor the advertisers control the publishment of ads.

Note: Three AdSense units can be put up on a single web-page.

Ads can be quite a pain for any user when surfing a website. If the ads pop-up every time, the user would undoubtedly leave the webpage instead of reading the content or clicking on the add. As a result, a website may lose its traffic.

AdSense makes sure that its ads are unobtrusive. Being modest, AdSense ads render a better user experience than any other ad networks. At least they are better than those flashy banner ads, which are quite irritating to eyes. Most of the ads published under AdSense are contextual and hence they attract many people to click on them.

The registering process of AdSense is simple and does not require your website or blog to be huge or famous. In fact, it can be leveraged by bloggers without even hosting their own website.

AdSense offers the smartest ad network. It acts like an ad broker, with which the publisher isn’t required to negotiate prices or search for appropriate advertisers. All of this is simplified by Google so that the publisher can focus on creating and posting high-quality content for their website.

Note: Very fewer people know that Google only keeps 32% of the revenue generated and 68% is given to publishers.

Although most people using Google AdSense would tell you that it is potentially one of the most well-paid ad networks, but it requires a lot more efforts than just posting the content. There are publishers who have earned more than $100,000 each year via AdSense revenue only. However, if you’re aiming at earning a huge chunk of money from AdSense than you would really attract a huge number of audience. All of it requires time, SEO, quality content, and maybe some other type of advertising. Now, it’s not always feasible for a newbie in blogging to spend money on the advertising of their blogs or content.

With AdSense, it’s manageable to create and publish content with keywords that are not acquired by anyone via AdWords. After publishing such content, the publisher would only be able to view Google Public service ads, which are not that great in generating income.
